Democratic Civil Transformation Movement (DCTM)<\/p>\n

The l Democratic Civil\u00a0 Transformation Movement\u00a0 (DCTM) expresses its profound sorrow over the reported killing of 17 women and dozens of children following a drone strike that hit civilians while they were traveling to pay condolences near Al-Sunout.<\/p>\n

(DCTM) strongly condemns all attacks against civilians and reiterates that such acts may constitute serious violations of international humanitarian law (IHL). The protection of civilians, including women and children, is an absolute obligation for all parties, at all times\u2014including during the month of Ramadan.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

(DCTM)calls on all human rights organizations, humanitarian actors, and independent observers to monitor, document, and preserve evidence related to this incident and other attacks on civilians, with a view to ensuring accountability and preventing further harm.<\/p>\n

(DCTM) further urges the relevant authorities in Port Sudan to assume full responsibility for the protection of civilians, to ensure transparent cooperation with independent inquiries, and to take immediate measures to prevent any recurrence of such attacks.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In conclusion,( DCTM) appeals to the UN Human Rights Council and relevant UN mechanisms to take urgent action to strengthen civilian protection, including consideration of measures to restrict the use of air operations where they are being used in ways that endanger civilians, and to support impartial fact-finding and accountability processes.<\/p>\n
